Michelle Markovich: President

I’m a junior in the College of Human Ecology with a strong interest in healthcare. I enjoy playing tennis, tutoring, and doing jigsaw puzzles. I joined BIGS because of my love for children and interest in their behavior and development. I am determined to create a more active community between college students and young kids and can’t wait to see what unique experiences this year will bring.

Cassandra Anna Gizzo: (away this semester)

I am from North Salem, NY and I graduated from North Salem High School in 2012. I am in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences where my major is Biology and Society and I am minoring in the Dyson Business Minor for Life Science Majors. I hope to study abroad in Ireland or England while at Cornell, and I plan to attend medical school after Cornell. I would like to become a pediatrician when I’m done with school because I really enjoy working with children.

Neha Dutta: Saturday Program Coordinator

Neha is junior in the School of Industrial & Labor Relations looking to pursue Human Resources or Policy & Management. CU Bigs appealed to Neha during her first semester at Cornell because of her love of interacting and working with children. She is excited to serve as Saturday Program Coordinator to facilitate enjoyable and educational programs for children giving them the opportunity to discover more about themselves and foster friendships with their peers. She finds that being a part of CU Bigs is rewarding because she has the opportunity to have fun while making meaningful contribution to the Ithaca Youth Bureau

Thomas Kroner: Fundraising Chair

I'm from San Francisco, CA and am currently a senior in the School of Industrial and Labor Relations. I enjoy sports, especially basketball, I play on the club team here at Cornell. I joined CU Bigs because I enjoy working with kids and wanted a chance to give back to the Ithaca community during my time at school. I've recently started what I hope will be a wonderful and long relationship with my Little Brother, Josh.

Raisa Masood: Publicity/Recruitment Chair

Raisa is a sophomore in the College of Arts and Sciences and is pursuing a major in Biological Sciences. Throughout high school, she volunteered with children with autism and joined CU Bigs to continue helping children grow and building relationships with them. Raisa is excited to recruit new members and become more involved with the club. In her free time, Raisa enjoys running and reading. She hopes to attend medical school and become a pediatric orthopedic surgeon.

Andrew Gonzalez: Treasurer

Andrew is a senior in the College of Arts and Sciences majoring in chemistry with minors in business and biology.  In his spare time he enjoys playing ukulele and exploring all the natural beauty Ithaca has to offer.  After a great semester growing closer to his Little Brother, he is eager to volunteer more with the local youth in the Ithaca community through CU Bigs.  Andrew strives for a career in dentistry and hopes to one day open up a children’s dental practice.

Shawn Rosemond: Secretary

Shawn is currently studying at the Hotel School and is a huge lover of anything revolving around food! He hopes to go into food & beverage operations and manage chains of restaurants. Tutoring and babysitting grade school students throughout his high school career was one of the factors that sparked his interest in being a part of CU Bigs. He has been an active member of CU Bigs for a year so far and plans to continue to enjoy his time enriching the lives of the young children. He hopes to increase the awareness of CU Bigs around the Cornell campus and within the Ithaca community as a whole.
