Co-Presidents: Margaret Jia & Esther Tsyngauz

Margaret is a junior from Northeast Ohio majoring in Biological Sciences and minoring in German Studies. This is her third year on the Into the Streets Board. She joined the board as a Fall Representative her freshman year, served as Agency Coordinator. Margaret is also a part of a research lab where she studies meiotic recombination and is president of Make-A-Wish at Cornell. She is excited to continue to pursue her passion for community service and help facilitate the collaboration between the Cornell and Tompkins County communities.


Esther is a junior in the College of Human Ecology, majoring in Human Biology, Health, and Society. She hopes to pursue a career in medicine. She participated in the Into the Streets event her freshman year and joined the Into the Streets board because of her love for community service and commitment to helping the community.  She served as a Team Leader Coordinator for two years and is now excited to be the Co-President. On campus, she is also a member of the PATCH Science Kits Committee, Human Ecology Ambassadors and is part of a neuroscience research lab. She is excited to work together with the board and students of Cornell to give back to the community.


Agency Coordinators: Vanessa Roga, Marianne Uy, & Rosemary Iwuala

Vanessa Roga is a sophomore in the ILR School with minors in Inequality Studies, Law and Society, and Business. Vanessa joined Into the Streets her freshman year as the freshman representative and is now an agency coordinator and treasurer. On campus Vanessa works in Catherwood Library; she is also the vice president of outreach for ILR Women's Caucus, a member of ILR Student Government's Alumni Affairs Committee, and head of alumni relations for her sorority Alpha Xi Delta. She has been heavily involved in community service for years now including organizing various donation campaigns such as food drives, toy drives, and a campaign for hair donation for wigs for children with cancer.

Marianne Uy is a freshman studying Industrial and Labor Relations. After serving as a Fall Representative on the 2017 Into the Streets executive board, Marianne wanted to further her service to both the Cornell and Ithaca communities as an Agency Coordinator. In addition to Into the Streets, Marianne is a Meinig Family Cornell National Scholar and a member of the Cornell Filipino Association. She hopes to share her love of community service with other Cornellians, aiding those in need around Ithaca and beyond! 




Team Leader Coordinators: Ashley Kim, Rochelle Tsemekhin, & Ellenor Chi

Ashley is a junior in the College of Arts and Sciences majoring in Chemistry and Chemical Biology and minoring in Biological Sciences. This is her third year with Into the Streets, and she hopes to continue her previous experience in leading and initiating numerous community service projects around Ithaca. Along with her involvement with Into the Streets, Ashley is also a part of the Service Team of Alpha Phi Omega. She is looking forward to serving both the Cornell and Ithaca communities with like-minded volunteers for this upcoming school year. 

Rochelle is a senior in the College of Human Ecology, majoring in Human development and hoping to pursue a career in medicine upon completion of her undergraduate studies. This will be her second year on the Into the Streets Executive Board as an Evaluations Coordinator. Rochelle is also involved in PATCH and is an undergraduate research assistant in the Lab for Rational Decision Making. She is looking forward to working alongside other passionate individuals to give back to the Ithaca community.

Ellenor Chi is a sophomore from Salt Lake City, UT who is majoring in Biology and Chemistry, and has been involved with Into the Streets since her very first semester. Outside of Into the Streets, she is Treasurer for Cornell Food Recovery Network, as well as a member of the Alpha Phi Omega service fraternity. She hopes that she can make Into the Streets even better this coming year!  




Program Evaluations Coordinator: Zibing (Jessica) Liao

Zibing (Jessica) Liao is a freshman, studying Economics and Anthropology in College of Arts and Sciences. She participated in Into the Streets 2017 and joined the E-Board as the Program Evaluations Coordinator. In addition, she joined International Justice Mission @ Cornell and Amber Dance Troupe. In her free time, she enjoys dancing and listening to music. Her favorite ice cream flavor is mint chocolate. 



Public Relations Coordinators: Hannah Hwa, Lina Huang, Sarah Luo, & Michael Pocress

Hannah is a Freshmen in the College of Arts and Sciences. She is currently an undecided major, but is interested in majoring in Psychology. During her first semester at Cornell, she participated in Into the Streets and really enjoyed it. This will be her first year on the Into the Streets Executive Board serving as one of their Public Relations Coordinators. Hannah is also involved in Project Hope at Cornell and will work as a research assistant in a psychology lab next semester. She is looking forward to working with the rest of ITS E-board and other Cornell students to give back to the Ithaca community.  


Lina Huang is a junior from San Diego, California studying Asian Studies and is on the pre-med track. She first learned about Into the Streets when she participated as a volunteer in the fall of 2016–and had such a great experience she came back to join ITS as one of the PR Coordinators. Currently, Lina also works on campus and is involved with alpha Kappa Delta Phi. In her free time, she enjoys eating, embroidery, tennis, and anything to do with art. She is looking forward to the next year working with everyone to make another great event!


Sarah Luo is a sophomore from Pittsburgh, PA majoring in Human Biology, Health, and Society. She was a volunteer for Into the Streets 2017 and is excited to spread the word about the event as Publicity Relations Coordinator. At Cornell, she is also involved in cell biology research, the community service fraternity Alpha Phi Omega, Cornell Health International, and the Alpha Epsilon Delta pre-health honors society. She hopes to tie her Into the Streets and volunteer experiences to a career as a physician or physician assistant. 

Michael Pocress is a freshman studying Policy Analysis and Management in the College of Human Ecology. Michael enjoys service and commitment to the public good as in the past he has created and led different community outreach programs and service projects during his trail to Eagle Scout. Michael has served as a team leader for Into the Streets 2017 and will be serving as the treasurer and Public Relations Coordinator for Into the Streets 2018.
