Cornell Sober Housing Inc.

Looking for a place to live, clean & sober?

Now Renting for Spring 2019 and the 2019-2020 Academic Year

The Sober Housing Initiative was formed out of a demand for housing from students who arrive or are returning to Cornell after experiencing problems with substance abuse, have been in treatment, and want to live in a warm environment with other individuals who are committed to living alcohol and drug-free lives.

216 Dearborn Place opened officially in Fall of 2016 as Cornell's first cooperative Sober House. This spacious 10 bedroom North Campus house provides housing to students who self-identify as being in recovery from alcoholism and other addictions and who would like to live with others who can relate, be supportive and enjoy college without the hassle of needing to explain or defend the choice of a sober lifestyle. Room rent includes all utilities.  Contact Terri Hoppenrath (Landlord) via email:, or phone: 607-342-2566.
