SPICMACAY is the Society for the Promotion of Indian Classical Music And Culture Amongst Youth. Started in 1977, SPICMACAY now has chapters all over the world. The overall mission of SPICMACAY and its international activities can be found at http://spicmacay.com/ .

The Cornell University Chapter shares the aim of SPICMACAY: to conserve and promote awareness of the rich and diverse cultural tapestry of India through a focus on the classical arts with their attendant legends, rituals, mythology and philosophy. We organize concerts, lecture-demonstrations, informal student recitals and seminars on Indian classical music and dance. We also arrange trips to places of worship and community activities during Indian festivals in an effort to celebrate our rich traditions.

Based in Ithaca, New York, we support talented upcoming artists by providing a platform for them to perform on an international stage, while showcasing the best of Indian art by organizing performances by renowned masters of music and dance.
