Meet the Board

Juliet Remi: President

Juliet Remi is a sophomore in the School of Industrial and Labor Relations with minors in Business, Law & Society, and Inequality Studies. She joined Cornell Students for Hunger Relief as a freshman because she was interested in providing for food insecure people in the area. She served as Treasurer in the 2016-2017 school year and is excited to begin her new role as President. She is the Outreach Chair for the Cornell University Deaf Awareness Project, another Public Service Center Program on campus. She enjoys working with people in the Ithaca community and looks forward to continuing volunteerism in the future.

Tamanna Nabar: Public Relations Officer

Tamanna Nabar is a senior in the College of Engineering, majoring in Mechanical Engineering  with a minor in Design and Environmental Analysis.  She joined Cornell Students for Hunger Relief in her freshman year as a Publicity Representative. After working as the President and Treasurer in subsequent semesters, she is excited to return to the role of PR Officer once     again. Tamanna hopes to take the club and its mission forward with people who are passionate about fighting local hunger issues as a community. Outside of CHR, she loves traveling, reading and film editing. She hopes to pursue Product Design in the future, with attention to inclusive design. 

Asia Moore: Head of Projects and Events

Asia Moore is a sophomore majoring in Industrial and Labor Relations and minoring in business and leadership. On campus, she is the head of projects and events for Cornell Students for Hunger Relief, a brother in Kappa Alpha Pi, Cornell’s selective pre-law fraternity, and a trip leader for Alternative Breaks. Off campus, Asia is a Big Sister with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ithaca & Tompkins County and an analyst with BLK Capital Management, an intercollegiate Ivy fund Black-owned and operated. She hopes to pursue a corporate job after graduation to secure her career goals of combining social justice and the business and law sectors.  


Irena Gao: Treasurer

Irena Gao is a freshman studying Biometry and Statistics in CALS. She joined CHR in her freshman spring because she wants to help residents in Tompkins County get the nutrition they need. She looks forward to leading fundraisers and teaching others about hunger relief. Currently, Irena is also a member of the Residential Student Congress and in the Cornell Piano Society. She enjoys piano, tennis, and hanging out with friends.
