The Translator-Interpreter Program (TIP) of the Cornell Public Service Center trains bilingual and multilingual Cornell students to serve as volunteer translators/interpreters for community agencies in emergency and non-emergency situations. Certified by Cornell language faculty members, our TIP translators and interpreters have been serving over 300 community agencies in Tompkins County and surrounding areas since 2000.

If you want to utilize your language skills to serve your community become part of TIP today! 

The first step to becoming a volunteer translator and interpreter is to attend a Volunteer Training Session.

Volunteer Training Session Dates Spring 2019:

  • Wednesday, February 6, 2019, 5:30-6:30 pm, Kennedy Hall 213
  • Monday, March 4, 2019, 5:30-6:30 pm, Kennedy Hall 101
  • Monday, March 25, 2019, 5:30-6:30 pm, Kennedy Hall 101
  • Wednesday, April 10, 2019, 5:30-6:30 pm, Kennedy Hall 213

TIP is currently in the process of updating our database of volunteer interpreters/translators. If you are in need of non-emergency translation or interpretation please email translator@cornell.edu.
