Become a Volunteer Translator and/or Interpreter

The first step to becoming a volunteer translator and interpreter is to attend a Volunteer Training Session. 

Volunteer Training Session Dates:

  • September 20, 2017, 5-6pm, Kennedy Hall 213
  • October 16, 2017, 5-6pm, Kennedy Hall 213
  • November 28, 2017, 5-6pm, Kennedy Hall 213

The Translator Interpreter Program is currently recruiting for the following positions:

  • Agency Training Chair
  • Volunteer Training Chair
  • Incident Coordinator

About TIP

Translator Interpreter Program (TIP) is a student-run program that addresses the language needs of the Cornell and Ithaca communities. TIP trains its interpreters and translators for emergency and non-emergency situations in the Ithaca and Tompkins County communities. TIP seeks volunteers from the Cornell and Ithaca communities to act as translators/interpreters in emergency and on-emergency situations.
